Look no further for stone filigree!

This majestic-looking cathedral is the epitome of gothic art, and has presided over the town centre for eight centuries now. The place is so peaceful inside it's almost unreal, plus on view is a string of magnificent statues (including the famous 'Ange au Sourire') and stained glassed windows, making it one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world. In fact, it was here that Clovis was baptised in 498. Since then, thirty-two kings of France, from Louis I to Charles X in 1825, have been blessed under the vaults of a structure that has long been considered the very soul of French Christianity. The towers are open for visits, from where you'll have an unobstructed view over all of Reims. Seriously damaged during the Great War, the cathedral then underwent 20 years' worth of restoration works. Marc Chagall added his own touch to it in 1974, as can be seen from the stained glass windows at the rear of the chancel.
This structure is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
Sunday services run from 9 to 10.15 am.
